This camp ax head is made from 4140 steel, and weighs in at roughly 2 lbs. It is hand forged from the cutting edge to the eye to the pole. The pole of the head is treated for the ability to use it for simple striking tasks around the camp*, such as pounding in tent stakes.

The wooden handles are hand carved and shaped to fit each individual ax head, and your specific needs. They are made from hickory wood, and are stained and then treated with oils to seal and protect the handles for longevity. You may select the length of the handle to fit your planned use of the tool.

The sheath is made from 8-9 oz leather that is hand cut and hand sewn with waxed nylon thread. Each sheath is custom-fit to each individual ax head. Available options for leather stains are light brown or dark chocolate (pictured), and nickle plate or antique brass (pictured) are available for the fittings and snaps.
